Job Title: Procurement Specialist

Location: Erbil

Working Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Working Days: 6 days a week, Saturday – Thursday 

Project: Runaki Project

Reports To: Project Director


Job Summary:

B.I.M is hiring a motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to support the Runaki Project, a strategic initiative led by the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) aimed at providing 24-hour electricity to residential areas across the region. The Procurement Specialist will play a key role in sourcing and securing materials, equipment, and services needed for the project’s success. This position reports directly to the Project Director and requires excellent coordination, negotiation, and organizational skills.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project needs and timelines.
  • Source, evaluate, and select suppliers and contractors in compliance with KRG and company procurement policies.
  • Issue and manage purchase orders, contracts, and agreements for goods and services.
  • Negotiate prices, delivery schedules, and terms with vendors to ensure cost-efficiency and quality.
  • Monitor deliveries, ensure accurate documentation, and verify that goods/services meet project standards.
  • Maintain up-to-date procurement records and reports for auditing and tracking purposes.
  • Liaise with the logistics, finance, and technical teams to ensure smooth procurement and delivery processes.
  • Provide regular procurement status updates to the Project Director.
  • Address and resolve issues related to delayed shipments, non-compliance, or supplier performance. 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in procurement, preferably in infrastructure or government-funded projects.
  • Strong understanding of procurement best practices, vendor management, and contract negotiation.
  • Familiarity with KRG regulations and procurement procedures is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement tools/software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Kurdish and English (Arabic is a plus).
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
